What does Absolute Value Mean?

In math, absolute value refers to the numerical value of an integer and measures the distance from zero on a number line. To represent this, the symbol used is l l, and either a positive or negative goes in between the two bars. For example,l-3l and l3l equal the same value which is 3. So that the absolute vale of 3 or the absolute value of negative 3 will be the same.
