What does a Notary do?

The job of a notary is quite simple, they notarize legal and financial documents. For example, you go to the bank to get a loan. They need to know that you are who you say you are so they check your identification.. After they’ve approved the loan and you sign the documents, the notary at the bank will put her stamp on the paper saying that you are indeed who you said you are, she saw your identification and you signed the papers in her presence. Same process applies to legal documents with the exception that you generally get the legal papers notarized at a lawyer’s office or courthouse instead of the bank.
