What do Frogs do in the Winter?

Aquatic frogs must be near water rich in oxygen therefore, they hibernate underwater on top of the mud or partially covered with mud. Terrestrial frogs hibernate on land, some dig deep in the soil under the frost line while others seek deep cracks in rocks or logs to hide out in during the cold months. If a frog partially freezes it will stop breathing and its heart will stop beating, however when it warms up both start up again.
