What Causes Peripheral Neuropathy?

There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy. These include:1. Injury to nerve that could be due to motor vehicle accident or falls or sport injuries.2. Alcoholism3. Vitamin B12 deficiency4. Pressure on nerve that could be due to placing yourself in unnatural position for long time.5. Diabetes6. Infections like shingles, Lyme diseases, HIV, hepatitis C7. Tumors either of nerve itself or those causing pressure on nerve.8. Autoimmune disease like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Gullain-Barre SUndrome.9. Other diseases like hypothyroidism, liver disease, kidney disease, amyloid polyneuropathy.10. Certain medicines like anticancer (eg. vincristine), antibiotics (like flagyl), antiTb (like isoniazid).
