It is a long story as to what caused the Battle of the Alamo. In 1724, the Spanish built the Alamo and used it as a mission. They stopped using it in 1793 and the Spanish put soldiers there in the early 1800’s . The Mexicans became independent from Spain and started staying in the Alamo. In that time, Texas was a part of Mexico. Texans wanted to be free from Mexico because the government had changed. In 1835, some volunteer Texan soldiers fought with Mexican soldiers and won. The Texans now dwelt in the Alamo. The Mexican government didn’t like this independence that they discovered, so they decided to start a war with the Texans. Basically, what caused the Battle of Alamo, was power!
