What are the Effects of El Nino?

El Nino creates all sorts of weather related complications and effects. When the warm surface waters in the central Pacific Ocean flow toward the eastern Pacific, the number of plankton fall, which devastates the entire ocean food chain. The trade winds reverse, which causes mudslides, flooding, and torrential rains in South America. In Indonesia and Australia, drought results from the collapse of the monsoons in Asia.
