What are the Duties of a State Governor?

As the title gives away, the major duty of a state governor is to govern the people of a state. The governor also has the duties of appointing various people to help him or her run the state efficiently. The state governor furthermore has the major duty of passing or rejecting bills and pieces of legislation sent to him or her by the state legislature. A state governor is also responsible for helping to create a state budget and approving a state budget. The state governor is also responsible for enacting state of emergencies during time of extreme emergency such as potential weather catastrophies.
