What are High Triglycerides?

Triglycerides are the most common type of fat in our bodies, however when the triglyceride levels are high, a person has an elevated risk of heart disease. Normal Trigliceride levels are below 150 mg/dl, where as levels of 200 – 499 mg/dl are borderline high. Triglyceride levels that are above 500 mg/dl are extremely high.
