What are Cornell Notes?

Cornell notes is a widely used note taking system that is used by students in all grade levels. This note taking system was created by Walter Paulk, who was a professor at Cornell University in the 1950s. With this system of note taking, students typicall divide their papers into two columns. The column on the right is comprised of all lecture notes. The column on the left is comprised of anything the student did not understand and needs to go back and look over later on. Long sentences are typically avoided, and notes are typically taken with short hand writing, symbols and diagrams to explain major points.
