Types of Pasta in Italy?

Pastas in Italy come in many shapes and many different dishes. There are many different kinds of actual pasta noodles like spaghetti, rotoni, lasagna, regular shells, macaron etc. There are many different types of pasta dishes as well. Most common pasta dishes in Italy are served with a marinara or spaghetti type suace. Often times, pasta is served in an olive oil base and has herbs and cheese on top.
