Types of Culture Media?

Culture media are solids or liquids that help grow microorganisms. Water is one type, it is usually distilled and compounds that contain nitrogen is another media type. Also used are energy sources like carbohydrates. Another media type are accessory growth factors which are mineral and vitamin salts.
