Should red wine be chilled is a tough question, some would say yes and others no. Most red wines should be served between the temperature of the low 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Most people will serve it at room temperature. Now a Chianti should be chilled at around 45 degrees Fahrenheit and usually people will serve this at room temperature also. So I would go with what you feel. I have seen people put ice in their red wine say that they would otherwise have a hangover and will not get one with the ice.
