How was Velcro Invented?

The name Velcro is actually the brand name of a hook and loop type fastener. The original fastener of this type was invented in 1941 by George de Mestral, a Swiss engineer who lived in Germany. He developed the method modeled after the tiny hooks on the burrs of a plant called a Burdock, that he noticed kept sticking to his cloths and in his dog’s fur.
