How to Write Formal Letters?

A formal letter should include your return address in the upper right hand corner of the page. The recipients address will be typed at the left margin two to three line spaces below the return address. The date is placed at the right margin below the addresses, and the salutation is placed two to three spaces below the date, at the left margin. Skip two lines and type the body of the letter following the salutation, aligned at the left margin. Skip multiple lines after the body of the letter, then close the letter with ‘Sincerely,’ or something similar. Skip several lines, then type your formal name at the left margin.
