If you want to win first place in your school’s science fair (and I’m sure that you do, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, reading this right now!) you must be sure to write a killer science fair project report. Remember that one of the main goals of this report is to explain your project and its components to your audience. With this being said, your report needs to be clearly written- clear communication is key to winning science fair projects. Your reader needs to be able to absorb the information without any effort, or without wondering what something means in a paragraph. Make sure that you never overwork sentences. Each sentence should contain just one idea. Avoid passive sentences, judgees will mark students down for this! Make sure that you understand that the word ‘data’ is a plural word, and try to avoid scientific jargon and language as much as you possibly can.
