Writing a how-to paper demands three things of the writer. First, you must know what you’re going to write about. Secondly, you have to have a detailed, step by step break down of how the job is done. Third, you have to decide to whom you are writing it for. If you’re writing for someone with a good knowledge of the concepts and tools, you can assume they already know what a hammer is and how it’s used. If you’re writing for a person totally new to the concepts, you’ll have to be a bit more detailed in describing the processes involved.
