How to Write a Good Summary?

The first step to writing a good summary is to understand thoroughly the materials that you are planning to summarize. Identify key points from each source and list them in a systematic way. Be sure you don’t include a long list of data or redundant information in the summary because the summary does not serve the purpose of data presentation. Incorporate the list of key points into a summary that allows the reader to have a general idea about the materials before he/she reads them. If possible, you should ask someone to proofread the summary for you and ask for their feedback.
