How to Splice Wires?

Splicing wires, whether electrical or speaker wires, is pretty easy. With electrical wires, you need to cut the power first. Strip the insulation from the ends of the wires and twist them three or four turns with pliers. Then you can finish the splice with an appropriate size wire nut and cover any exposed wire with electrical tape. For stranded type wire, you should always solder the splice and use a shrink insulator, or electrical tape to cover the bare wire. For more information look here:
