How to Read Periodic Table?

Reading the periodic table is simple. Each box represents an element. The boxes are group in order of size and elements in the same column have the same characteristics. In each box you will find the symbol for the element in the center. The whole number at the top of the box is known as the atomic number, and tells you the number of protons in the atom. The number at the bottom that consists of a decimal is the atomic mass or atomic weight.
