How to Read Maps?

To read a map, it’s important to pay attention to the scale. Typically toward the edge of the page, there will be a small diagram showing the conversion rate for mileage between tow points. For example, if 1 inch equals 1 mile, then 6.5 inches between two places would mean 6.5 miles. Also, pay attention to direction. North is always the top of the map, East is the right, South is at the bottom and West is to the left.
