Making your own salt water taffy can be tricky business! The humidity and weather play a big factor in taffy-making; you can’t make taffy on a rainy or humid day. To make salt water taffy, ingredients such as sugar, corn syrup, flavoring, and salt water are boiled together. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, it’s then pulled by hand for up to 15 minutes. The pulled taffy is then rolled out into long strips and cut into smaller pieces.
