A wee bit o taste from the Irish aye? To make Irish soda bread whisk the dry ingredients together: 3 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1 1/2 tsp salt. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and add 1 cup buttermilk mixing with a fork until a soft dough is formed (up to 1/2 cup additional buttermilk may be added). To jazz up the authentic version you could toss in some dried cranberries and orange zest. Knead dough on floured surface about one minute forming into slightly flattened circle and place on parchment lined cookie sheet. Mark with 1/2 inch deep x and cook at 375 degrees for about 40-45 minutes. Deliciously done!
