Homemade scented candles are easy and fun to make. Go to Michael’s craftstore and purchase some soy-based candle wax, some scent, colorant, and wicking. Simply melt the wax, being careful not to boil or let it catch on fire. Remove the melted wax from the heat, stir it to cool the wax down just a bit, then add a few drops of scent and colorant. Pour the mixture into a heat proof glass or jar (I like to use Mason jars). Tie a length of wick around a pencil and let hang straight down into the melted wax. Make sure you insert the wick before the candle starts to get hard. Some people like to put their wick in the jar before pouring the melted wax into it.
