How to Make Carmel?

In a medium pot combine 2 cups white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup corn syrup and 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 pint heavy whipping cream and 1 cup of butter. Cook until the mixture reads 250 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add a teaspoon of vanilla. Spread in a greased pan and allow to cool.
