A wood burning stove often sits on hearth pad which must be fire resistant and able to stand with weight of the stove. You can make you own by using cement backer board and plywood. You need to put your stove on the cement backer and allow about 16 inches around the edges of your stove. You will then cut out the same area from the plywood. You should nail the plywood onto the backer board. You can then decorate this pad with tile or brick.
