How to do Prime Factorization?

To do prime factorizations, you need to take your given whole number and repeatedly divide it by a prime number. Once your factors are broken down until they can be broken down no more you must take your prime numbers and combine like number and put it in a multiplication equation. Let’s use 30 as an example. 30 divided by 2 is 15. 15 divided by 3 is 5. you are left with 2, 3, and 5 as your prime numbers because These are no longer able to be divided anymore so your prime factorization would be 2 * 3 * 5, or 30.
