Steel cut oats are about the best when it comes to oatmeal. To make, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a sauce pan. Pour in 1 cup of steel cut oats and stir for 2 minutes. Add 3 cups of boiling water, reduce heat to simmer, and simmer for 25 minutes without stirring. Combine 1/2 cup of whole milk and 1/4 cup of low fat buttermilk with oatmeal mixture and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Pour into a bowl and top with buttermilk, 1 tablspoon of brown sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Enjoy!
