If you want really great homemade hash browns you want to first take your potato and scrub it well. Next grate the whole thing into a collander and then rinse off all the starch. while waiting on these to dry a bit you can get your grease warmed up in your skillet and spice the oil. Whatever you like for spice can be added at this point. Once the oil is hot spread the grated potatos in an even layer in the skillet and cover. Keep an eye on them but DONT stir them over and over. Once they are golden on the bottom you can then flip them and let te other side cook. I like to add onions and peppers but you can add ham or cheese or just about anything else your family likes. EAT UP!
