How to Become a Probation Officer?

It takes a long time to become a probation officer in most states. You must obtain a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Most individuals obtain a master’s degree in criminal justice too. You then must complete some type of internship for a minimum of six months, depending upon your states requirements. Last is to pass several oral, psychological, written and physical exams. You may even have to take certification tests, depending upon your state’s requirements.
