How to Become a Corrections Officer?

The requirements for becoming a corrections officer differ from one state and county to another. Where I live there is no education requirements to be met and what has to be done is you fill out an application at which point you take a test and then they go by openings and the top scores on the test for setting up interviews. You are interviewed several times approximately 3 times the last interview is with the warden of the prison and then if accepted you will submit to a drug test which was a hair follicle test, and a psychiatric evaluation. If you get through all these steps you are offered employment. Some areas will require college credits and some won’t so check with your local prison or court house for the requirements and be ready for a long process.
