Water is actually much heavier than people think it is and the weight of 5 gallons will suprize you. One gallon of water weight 8.34 pounds so to get the weight of 5 gallons it’s 5 x 8.34 = 41.7 pounds. Does this explain why not everyone can lift that 5 gallon bottle of water and put it on the dispenser. Imagine when the west was first settled and you had to carry water to your house. Those settlers must have had some great muscles.
