It actually depends on exactly what kind of soda it is! A can root beer has about 40 grams of sugar. 4 grams of sugar equals 1 teaspoon, so in a can of root beer there would be 10 teaspoons of sugar!! If you have a ‘diet’ soda, then there is NO SUGAR at all! To calculate how many teaspoons of sugar are in YOUR can of soda, just divide the total grams of sugar (per container, not by serving) by 4 and you’ll have the answer you need for YOUR soda!
