How Many Months are Women Pregnant?

Pregnancy in humans is generally considered to be 9 calendar months or 40 weeks from the time of conception. These 9 months are divided into 3 periods called trimesters that are each roughly 3 months long. Each trimester has specific points of growth and development for the fetus. A defined full-term pregnancy is generally at 40 weeks but after 36 weeks a pregnancy is usually considered to be full-term.
