How Many Credits do You Need to be a Senior?

Five credits (Carnegie Units or c.u.) are the average for a completed year in high school and the average number of credits needed to graduate is 20. The total number of credit units (‘c.u.,’ or ‘credits’) needed for graduation from college varies between 32 and 36 depending on the number of credits required in the major; however, no more than 36 credits will be required for graduation.
