A whole chicken will take anywhere from 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours. It depends on how big the bird. A small broiler, say only 2 1/2 pounds,will take 1 1/4 hours. For a really big roaster, up to 6 pounds, will take about 2 1/2 hours. To know for sure always check the internal temperature which should ready 165 degrees.
