How Long Did the Hundred Years War Last?

In spite of the name, the Hundred Year’s War did not last 100 years. Beginning in 1337 and ending in 1453 it actually lasted 116 years! The conflict was for the French throne when it was vacated at the end of the Capetian dynasty. Two French houses engaged in this conflict was the House of Valois and the House of Plantagenet or Anjou.
