How Long are College Credits Good for?

A rule of thumb is that your college credits are good for seven years. This means that if you leave college early for whatever reason, then decide to come back five years later, you will not need to retake your earlier classes. Some classes, such as English or math, may be good for longer. Courses that expire the fastest are in history and science, since the body of knowledge grows tremendously each year (for example, that 1983 biology class never mentioned genetics).
