How is Nuclear Waste Disposed?

A few different methods are used to dispose of nuclear waste. One way is to bury it in an area where it won’t be disturbed for thousands of years, like it mountainous areas. Some countries are experimenting with disposing of nuclear waste in clay or granite. Still, at this time most nuclear waste is stored right at the site at which it was produced. Much of it stored in sealed, steel-lined containers and some of it in large concrete pools filled with water.
