How is Christmas Celebrated in Ireland?

Christmas celebrations in Ireland begin on Christmas Eve and end on January 6, which is called ‘Little Christmas’ or ‘the feast of the Epiphany’. There is the usual gift giving and decorations with the mistletoe being very prominent especially over the doorways. Christmas Eve Midnight Mass is attended by family members and the dinner on Christmas day is a highlight. The women usually bake special cakes for members of their household as well as puddings, one each for the Epiphany Days which is Christmas, New Years and Twelfth Night. Look here for more information:
