How Hovercrafts Work?

The basic concept of a hovercraft is to create enough of an air cushion under an object to lift it just slightly off of the ground, combined with a steering device and an method of propulsion. In most cases the air cushion is created by a series of fans on the bottom of a skirted object, a simple rudder similar to what is used in boats, and a propeller at the rear, against similar to what are used to propel a boat through water.
