How does HIV Turn Into Aids?

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks the body’s white blood cells and weakens the immune system. The immune system serves to protect the body from various viruses, bacteria, and diseases and when the white blood cells drop below a certain level the body will contract a disease that it no longer can fight off. This can be a disease like pneumonia that a person without HIV could recover easily. This process of going from HIV to AIDS can happen within a couple of years or it could take 20 years.
