How does Dopamine Work?

Dopamine is a brain chemical that is stored. When something good happens Dopamine is released into a space in the brain called synapse, after the release it floats around until it is absorbed by a Dopamine receptor, this is when the ‘good’ feeling occurs. Excess Dopamine is either recycled or destroyed by your body. Dopamine controls the flow of information such as attention, problem solving tasks and memory. So in essence Dopamine enforces the basic enjoyment in our activities that help us to survive by making things such as eating and having sex enjoyable.
