How does a Percolator Work?

A percolator is made up of these parts: a metal pot, a hollow metal tube that goes into the bottom of the pot and extends up to the top, a filter basket, and a lid. When water is put into the pot, the filter basket should then be filled with coffee grounds, and the lid then placed on. The water in the pot gets heated and is sucked up through the tube and into the filter basket, dripping back down into the pot. The process repeats itself until all of the coffee is brewed.
