How do You Treat Bee Stings?

When you are stung by a bee it is important to remove the stinger as quickly as possible and wash the area with soap and water. You can also apply ice or cool water for 10 to 30 minutes, after the sting, to help with any swelling. To speed relief you can take an antihistamine such as Benadryl. If you start to experience itching, excessive redness and swelling on the body you will need to seek immediate medical help because you could be experiencing anaphylatic shock which can be fatal.
