How do You Treat a Scorpion Sting?

Most scorpion stings are not life threatening, however there are some people that may experience dangerous symptoms such as impaired speech, blurred vision, shortness of breath, hyperactivity, or convulsions you would need to go immediately to the emergency room. If you are just experiencing a little swelling and pain (like being stuck by a pin) you will need to wash the area with warm soap and water. To relieve the swelling you can add a cold compress to the sting area for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time and elevate if body part if possible. You can also take a Benadryl to help with the swelling and itching.
