You will need maple seeds, white paper cloth, and a spill proof container. Get together dozens of maple seeds and dry them well. They are also known as ‘whirlygigs’ because of how they fall they look like a helicopter. Hold the propeller or the body of the seed in each hand over a clean white paper or a cloth. Rub the seed pods together to loosen all the tiny silvers of hair that coat the pod. Repeat the process with several seeds until you accumulate a teaspoon of fine slivers. Store the powder in a tight spill proof container and put it in a safe spot.
