Surprisingly enough, it’s actually pretty simple. Interested in making your own? I can definitely help. Follow these easy steps and you’ll be decorating your mantle in no time.1. Grab any kind of glass jar, any will do, but you’re going to want to make sure you can find a lid for it.2. Decide what you’re going to put into the snow globe. As a rule, things like paper and cardboard are bad things to put in there. Stick with materials that won’t fall apart when wet.3. Take the object and glue it to the inside of the lid. Probably going to want to use hot glue or super glue.4. There are a few ways to create the snow, you can either use those tiny styrofoam beads, or you can use eggshells that have been broken up into the appropriate size. 5. Fill your jar up with mineral oil about 3/4 of the way up. Leave some room for the amount that’s going to be displaced when you insert the object into it. Use oil specifically because the viscosity will make the ‘snowflakes’ drift slower than if you were to use plain water.6. Run a bead of hot glue, super glue, or silicone sealant around the inside of the lid.7. Attach the lid and you’re good to go.
