I haven’t thought about punch bowl cake for years, but I do remember how to make it. You need to bake a yellow cake mix in two layers and prepare a package of instant vanilla pudding according to package directions. Crumble one layer of yellow cake into the bottom of a punch bowl and spread the vanilla pudding on top. Crumble the second layer of the cake on top the pudding. Next, drain a large can of pineapple and dump the pineapple on top of the pudding and spread it out evenly. Then add a can of cherry pie filling on top the pineapple. Finally, spread a large container of whipped topping on top the cherry pie filling and sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
