Grilled cheese sandwiches are a staple in most childrens lunch diet. You can make different variations on the basic sandwich by adding vegetables such as tomatoes. You can change the variety of cheese that you use such as Swiss or American. The basic sandwich is made always the same. Butter two slices of bread on one side, set one piece butter side down on a frying pan that is preheated to a medium setting. Place two slices of cheese and vegetables (if desired) on the bread, place the second slice of bread butter side up on top. Cook on medium heat until the bottom slice of bread becomes medium brown (check often). flip your entire sandwich over and cook the other side until brown. Remove from frying pan and lay flat on a plate. Allow the sandwich to cool for five minutes before serving or the cheese could still be melted and slide off of the sandwich. Enjoy.
