The fastest way to frost up those cupcakes or dress up that cake without digging in to a pre made frosting jar is really quite simple. You want to have confectionary sugar and water on hand. Take a measuring cup and add one cup of the sugar. Add a tiny bit of water to the sugar, about 1/2 teaspoon. Mix. You will add sugar and or water until you get your frosting to the consistency you want. A glaze would require more water, a thick frosting more sugar.
